Rare NOKIA Certificate of Origin (1937) – Historic Wood Pulp Export to Greece

An exceptionally rare and historically significant 2-page document (recto-verso), serving as a living testament to the industrial heritage of NOKIA and the trade relations between Finland and Greece during the interwar period.

This is an official Certificate of Origin (Certificat d’Origine) and detailed cargo specification, issued on August 5, 1937, in Helsinki (Helsingfors).

Company: NOKIA (stamped as "NOKIA Strong" on the reverse).
Document Type: Certificate of Origin & Cargo Specification list (2 pages).
Commodity: 1,865 bales of wood pulp (pâte de bois), total gross weight approx. 313 tons.
Vessel: S/S "Nordland".
Route: Shipped from Raumo/Kotka (Finland) to Greece.

The document is rich in authentic philatelic and fiscal elements:
NOKIA Branding: The reverse side features prominent blue stamps: "NOKIA Strong – AEGHION", certifying the specific product grade and its destination for the Greek market.
Official Authentication: Features the original red embossed seal of the Helsinki Chamber of Commerce (Helsingin Kauppakamari).
Export Union: Bears the stamp of "L'Union des Fabriques de Cellulose Finlandaises" (The Finnish Cellulose Association), the powerful cartel that managed Finland’s cellulose exports.
Signatures: Includes original handwritten signatures of officials from that era.

Well-preserved for its age (89 years old), with clear printing and vivid, legible stamps.
VF (Very Fine) condition. The paper shows natural age patina with no tears affecting the text. Original filing punch-holes are present as per historical office standards.
