Description from the seller
A finely hand-painted Russian lacquer box from the renowned Fedoskino school, signed by the artist E. Uvarova.
The composition presents a romantic folkloric scene with two figures in traditional dress, illuminated by a glowing flower rendered with mother-of-pearl inlay. This technique creates a subtle shimmering effect and depth, characteristic of high-quality Fedoskino work.
Executed in layered oil painting on papier-mâché, the piece reflects the distinctive style of the Fedoskino tradition, known for its realism, light effects and refined detailing.
Produced during the USSR period (circa 1970–1990), this box represents a collectible example of Russian lacquer miniature art.
