The thick, milky-white feldspar glaze (志野釉, Shino-yu) pools and creates a crackled pattern (カイラギ, kairagi) and tiny pinholes (巣穴, su-ana), characteristic of authentic Shino-yaki. Beneath the glaze, subtle iron-brush markings (鉄絵, tetsu-e) of reddish-brown appear, adding depth and contrasting beautifully with the snowy-white glaze.
