Chinese white nephrite jade snuff bottle dragon carving –China- 20th Century
On offer is a very fine Chinese grey-white nephrite jade snuff bottle, made in the Chinese taste. This white jade snuff bottle has on both sides superb carvings, depicted in great detail. The snuff bottle has a beautifully ongoing carving of a dragon, chasing between the clouds. The cap consists of a brass mount with a red hardstone top. This snuff bottle has a shiny finish that gives it a beautiful appearance and contrast. Rare find, top!
Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color.
