AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Rigid collar (torque) probably of Miao or Hmong ethnicity in solid silver –

This traditional jewelry is characterized by:
a circular open shape typical of ancient neck collars
two ends decorated with engravings of Chinese characters, probably bearing lucky meanings (longevity, prosperity, protection). On the other faces of the ends, there is an engraving of a bird, perhaps an ibis. The two faces on each side are engraved.

This type of necklace was worn as traditional ornament and protective symbol.
Weight is about 186 g (weight measured with a kitchen scale and not with a jeweler's scale) –
Diameter: about 15 cm
Material: silver (not tested, probably low-purity silver, common for this type of piece)
Origin: Asia (China or Southeast Asia)
Era: 20th century
Good overall condition with:
– old patina
– normal signs of wear
– no major deformations
(see photos for details)
Collars of this type are traditionally made in low-purity silver and without hallmark, which is normal for ethnic artisan craft.

Shipped with traceable delivery via Colissimo and possibly insurances (depending on the auction amount)
