Wall mirror in glazed ceramic, model Da Muro, vintage style, estimated period 1950–1960, origin Italy.
Description from the seller
Refined and exceptional mid-century wall mirror, produced by the historic Ceramiche Chifenti manufactory of Bagni di Lucca (Tuscany, Italy).
This piece represents a perfect example of postwar Italian craftsmanship. Although the appearance recalls carved walnut in the Louis XV style, the frame is entirely made of molded ceramic. The finish, described by the original era label as "ad arte", features a refined craquelé effect that perfectly imitates the grain and patina of antique wood.
The frame is characterized by moving, sinuous lines, enriched with relief decorations and a decorative knot at the top, giving the object a striking presence and timeless elegance.
