Kerosene lamp - Gilt brass

Elegant antique brass oil lamp, Belgian-made, marked 'BELGICA – D.F.' beneath the base, confirming its period production dating from the late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1880–1910).
It is equipped with its original wick burner with adjustment knob, as well as a tall transparent glass chimney. It shows a characteristic fluorescence under UV lamp at 365 nm, due to the presence of manganese used at the time as a glass decolorizing agent, which serves as an interesting indicator of antique production.
In good vintage condition.
