Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Erard piano from the United Kingdom, built in 1870, with root-wood veneer and decorative ornaments, 114 cm high, 153 cm long, about 150 kg, includes a piano stool, physically in very good condition and tested and functional.
Description from the seller
This beautifully looking Erard piano comes from London and was built in 1870. The piano features fine ornaments and has a finish in rosewood veneer. The tone is typical of that era, intimate and restrained. Perfect for smaller spaces.
A few years ago the piano was completely restored in Germany:
- new strings
- new tuning pins
- new hammer heads
- new damper felt
- the ivory keytops were replaced with plastic
- the piano has been given a modern lacquer.
The bridge is in excellent condition. Hairline cracks are visible in the pinblock and on the soundboard, but they do not affect the tone. Larger cracks were filled during restoration.
Tuned to 432Hz.
Pianos from this period are more sensitive due to their construction than modern pianos and therefore require more tunings for optimal pitch. A report from piano technician Jonno van den Beuken can be seen in the photos.
For transport I’m happy to arrange with a carrier.
