Large, rare Emilian oval frame carved and meccata, mid-18th century. Important Emilian oval frame from the mid‑1700s, suitable for the transition between the late Louis XV and the early Louis XVI taste. Finely carved with vegetal motifs and interlaced ribbons, it features at the crest an elegant love knot, a decorative element that anticipates the Neoclassical language while still maintaining a Rococo imprint. The surfaces and the meccata and the gilding are very worn, today giving a warm and deeply authentic patina, particularly appreciated in antiquarian circles.
