Description from the seller
Guerlain Mitsouko – Flacon Bouchon Coeur – Circa 1925
Here is a very rare piece of perfumery history: an original bottle of Mitsouko by Guerlain, dating from the 1920s. Created by Jacques Guerlain in 1919, this perfume is considered the absolute masterpiece of the “Chypre” family, and this version represents one of the earliest editions put on the market.
Authenticity and Rarity Features:
* Baccarat Craftsmanship: The bottle bears at the bottom the prestigious acid stamp of Baccarat, testifying to the historic collaboration between crystalware and the Guerlain house.
* Matching Numbers: A key detail for high-end collecting: the hand-number etched under the cap exactly matches the number etched on the bottom of the bottle. This proves the piece’s absolute integrity, confirming that the cap and bottle were born together and have not been replaced over time.
* Original Label: The circular front label is original to the era and, despite a century of life, retains extraordinary legibility and charm, with the typical graphic motifs of the 1920s.
* Iconic Design: The famous “bouchon coeur” bottle (heart-shaped cap turned upside down) in transparent crystal, a masterpiece of Art Nouveau that influenced 20th-century industrial design.
Condition:
The bottle is in excellent condition, with no chips or visible cracks in the crystal. The original box is included in the lot; while it shows evident signs of aging and damage due to its 100 years of history, it is a fundamental added value for provenance and the integrity of the vintage set.
A unique opportunity for bottle collectors and lovers of Guerlain’s historic perfumes.
