Volume from 1644 containing the Attic Nights by Aulus Gellius, edited in Leiden (Lugdunum Batavorum) by Hieronymus de Vogel. In excellent condition and of extremely hard-to-find availability in these conditions, with complete appendices. The volume comprises 731 pages and, in addition to the 595 pages of the text and its index, there are 41 of Interpretatio Graecarum Dictionum, 66 of Index Verborum, 16 of Index Scriptorum ab Aulo Gellij Laudatorum, 7 Doctorum Virorum in Aliquot A. Gellij in locos conjecture, 5 of Index Graecarum Vocum, and 1 of Lector Benevole with the printing errors present in the volume. Contemporary parchment binding, well bound at the spine and free of moisture traces. Fresh pages and completely legible. The publication of the Attic Nights is dated to 177 AD or later, and its importance lies in the fact that it contains a collection of notes on grammar, philosophy, history, ancient customs, and other subjects, and inside it there are fragments of the works of many authors who might otherwise be unknown today.
