Crackle ceramic vase with bird decoration, signed Vandycke n°14, Borinage faience, circa 1920-1930.
Elegant faience vase with ivory-ground finely crackled, hand-decorated with a beautiful multicoloured bird (blue, yellow, orange and green) perched on a branch surrounded by brown-reddish vegetal motifs. Flared rim and slightly tapered base. Signed “Vandycke” and numbered 14 on the base. Characteristic piece of decorative faience from the Borinage (Hainaut) in the 1920s-1930s, in a refined Art Deco animalier style.
Very good condition with some age-related wear (light traces on the edges and the rim). No cracks or chips. Weight 750 g. Dimensions: height approx. 22 cm, rim diameter approx. 8.5 cm, maximum diameter approx. 13 cm, foot diameter approx. 8.5 cm.
