Description from the seller
Auction description: Iconic Parker – USA Duofold Senior "Big Red" – Flat Top
Description:
For auction: a magnificent and imposing example of the Parker Duofold Senior, world-famous under its nickname "Big Red". This specific model is the sought-after 'Flat Top' version from the 1920s, recognizable by the characteristic flat ends of the cap and nib holder.
The Senior was the largest size in the Duofold line and is known for its excellent balance and prestigious appearance.
Technical details:
Model: Duofold Senior "Big Red" (Flat Top).
Period: Circa 1926-1929.
Material: Orange Radite (early plastic) with gilded details.
Nib: Original, large 14K gold Parker Duofold nib. The nib is in good condition with a clear iridium tip for smooth writing.
Filling system: Button-filler (not tested; for optimal use a new ink sac is recommended).
Imprints: Very sharp and readable text on the holder: "Geo. S. Parker - Duofold - Made in U.S.A.".
Condition:
The pen is in a strikingly beautiful vintage state. The color is consistent and the gilded clip and rings show only minimal signs of aging.
