Bowmore Surf - b. 1990s - 1 Litre

Bowmore Surf was a long-running Travel Retail Exclusive. It was introduced in the 1990s and bottled until 2014, when it was finally replaced in their range. It was composed of casks from first and second full bourbon casks and bottled at 40% alcohol, as a No Aged whisky. However, it is rumored that the whiskey has aged for an average of 8 years.
Bowmore Surf, was an alternative version of the widely available Bowmore Legend. At the time, it was considered a must-have in the distillery's wide range.
This edition of Bowmore Surf dates back to the 1990s - early 2000s, when the labels were decorated with seagulls flying over Loch Indaal with the distillery in the background.
Scent: Young, peat smoke, vanilla, lemon peel and notes of seaweed and damp hay.
Taste: Peat smoke, grapefruits, green apples, vanilla, caramel, sea salt and a hint of oak.
Aftertaste: Medium long and warming, with notes of peat smoke, sea salt, vanilla and licorice.
