Art Nouveau silver-plated serving tray from Sweden, dating to 1900–1910, shaped as a water lily leaf with a lotus-form single-point handle, measuring 22.5 × 17 × 5 cm and in good condition with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
A lovely Art Nouveau silver-plated serving tray from Sweden, dating to the early 20th century, around 1900–1910.
The tray is shaped as a large water lily leaf, with a wavy edge that follows the natural outline of the leaf. The surface is embossed with veins spreading out from the center, giving it an organic look. One side curves upward, which makes it look super realistic, caught in a moment rather than pressed flat into a mold.
The handle is very unique. It rises in a flowing, free-form curve, formed as a lily stem, and where it meets the tray it is anchored at a single point, with a sculpted lotus bud at the joint. That single-point attachment is a deliberate design that lifts the whole piece.
The tray is hand-signed on the underside by the artist, along with a model number (450).
The condition is good overall. There is some surface wear to the silver plating in places, a few age spots, and some light scratches, all expected for a piece of this age. Looks beautiful overall.
Height: 5 cm
Width: 22.5 cm
Depth: 17 cm
