Uncle Nearest - '1884' Small Batch 93 Proof & '1856' Premium 100 Proof - 700ml - 2 bottles

BOTTLE 1 Uncle Nearest 1856 Premium Whiskey is produced in Tennessee using a combination of corn and rye, and is put through the Lincoln County Process before being aged in new American oak barrels. Currently it's produced by two local distilleries as the brand's own whiskey ages. The name honours Nathan Green, who was known as Uncle Nearest to friends and family, and was the first African-American master distiller on record in the USA. It's from Uncle Nearest that a particular Jack Daniel was taught about distilling was back in the mid-1800s. Nathan 'Nearest' Green is undoubtedly a figure who was vitally important to whiskey history. Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt Nose Buttery vanilla and brown sugar, mixed with soft sultana and cinnamon sweetness. Palate Caramelised nuts, oat cookies, more brown sugar, sandalwood, authentic corn hints and a hint of cut grass. Finish Lingering mint leaf and milk chocolate notes, with a final touch of spicy oak. BOTTLE 2 Fantastic small batch whiskey from the Uncle Nearest range right here! This expression is made with barrels specially selected by Uncle Nearest's founders, and curated by master blender Victoria Eady Butler (who is also Nathan 'Nearest' Green's great-great-granddaughter). Terrifically tasty, with huge helpings of vanilla and cooked fruit to enjoy.
