Description from the seller
Important Art Deco-style mushroom lamp, fully restored, in brass, with a very strong decorative presence. It is distinguished by its large circular metal lampshade, mushroom-shaped, lacquered in an elegant mustard tone and edged around the circumference by an exposed brass band. Its ample and slightly domed profile, topped with a small summit knob, gives it a particularly balanced silhouette and very characteristic features.
The stem rests on a remarkable shaft composed of vertical crystal bars, an uncommon element that gives the piece its originality. This play of transparency contrasts with the warmth of the brass and enhances the refinement of the whole. The circular stepped base, also in brass, coherently extends this geometric and architectural aesthetic typical of Art Deco taste.
In its generous proportions, this lamp stands out for a substantial size and an unusual visual presence, far greater than that of an ordinary table lamp. The electrical installation has been completely redone according to current standards. The piece shows signs of use, wear, small surface nicks and occasional alterations visible on the brass, consistent with the piece’s age and not detracting from its strong decorative power. A lamp of character, rare for its mushroom silhouette, the breadth of its shade and the singularity of its stem in crystal bars.
