Large hand-painted glazed ceramic centerpiece vase by AZ.NOVE (Nove, Vicenza, Veneto, Italy), three-piece construction with base, central body and lid, 60 cm high, 28 cm diameter, weighing 3.4 kg, dating to 1960–1970.
Description from the seller
Important Large-Scale Ceramic Vase, divided into three pieces: base, central body of the vase itself and a lid that fits perfectly both to the base and to the vase itself, thus creating a double use of the object.
Manufacturer: A.Zen, NOVE (Vicenza) - 1950s
Potiche of large dimensions, entirely handmade in Nove in the province of Vicenza at the famous Aristide Zen manufactory.
The piece is an excellent example of the post-war Venetian ceramic tradition, characterized by a fluted and undulating structure inspired by eighteenth-century aesthetics.
The central body is decorated with a rich hand-painted floral composition, with lively shades and accurate details (the decorator's signature “Primoli” visible within).
The profiles, of the collar and the knob, are finished with an ochre/burnished band that elegantly frames the monumental shape of the vase.
The decoration of the multicolor floral bouquet is carried out entirely by hand.
