Description from the seller
Antique Silver-Plated Food Warmer by Walker & Hall, Sheffield – circa 1900
Elegant and rare antique silver-plated food warmer (entrée dish warmer) produced by the renowned English silversmith Walker & Hall (Sheffield), dating to approximately 1890–1920.
This refined piece features a beautifully domed lid, a removable inner bowl, and an elevated stand designed to accommodate a spirit burner (not included). The warmer is decorated in a classic style, with clean lines and subtle detailing typical of high-quality English tableware from the late Victorian / Edwardian period.
The interior of the lid is engraved with a crest and the name “J. Esper”, suggesting it may have originally belonged to a private household or fine dining establishment, adding historical character and uniqueness.
Condition:
Good antique condition with typical signs of age and use. Minor wear to the silver plating, especially on the underside and interior, consistent with age. No major dents or damage. The piece displays very well.
Dimensions (approx.):
Height: 18 cm
Diameter: 13 cm
Notes:
• Fully functional as a serving piece, though the original spirit burner is not included
• Ideal as a decorative collectible or for stylish table presentation
A fine example of English silver-plated craftsmanship, perfect for collectors or lovers of antique tableware.
