A very fine 4/4 master violin, labeled Joannes Baptista Guadagnini fecit Parmae serviens C S R 1771. The instrument is in ready to play condition with some small, professionally repaired cracks, new rosewood set up and new strings. The violin has an excellent straight medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back of softly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. Rich golden brown reddish varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 594 mm and the back 359 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 169 mm; middle bouts: 115 mm; lower bouts: 209 mm. Full size. The sound is very deep, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist. Shipping by DHL worldwide.
