The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and one piece back of softly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The original varnish of golden reddish color remains in good condition. The whole length of the violin is 591 mm and the back 358 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 168 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 206 mm.
