Description from the seller
Splendid manifesto dedicated to Serge Lifar, legendary dancer and choreographer of the 20th century, central figure of the Ballets Russes and the Paris scene.
Note well: This is a later edition, probably from the 1970s.
The image, signed at the top by Paul Colin, one of the greatest masters of French theatrical posters, represents a refined example of theatrical graphics with strong visual impact.
The composition is extraordinary: the stylized female face, immersed in delicate pinkish and black shades, blends with the elongated figure of the dancer in a classical pose, creating a scenographic effect of great modernity. The contrast between the dark background and the luminous silhouette of the dancer generates depth and elegance, while the intensely red typography “SERGE LIFAR” gives strength and theatricality to the whole.
A work of great charm, perfect for collectors of theater posters, dance, and French graphic design of the twentieth century, but also for those seeking a decorative element with strong personality. An iconic subject that unites art, movement, and refined graphics.
