Labelled Augustus Pollastri - 4/4 - - Violin - Unknown

A full-size violin suitable for a professional musician or collector. The instrument is in good condition, showing signs of age such as wear and varnish marks, along with one professionally repaired crack on the top. It is fitted with new rosewood pegs, a new bridge, and new strings. The violin features a two-piece back made of strongly flamed maple and a top of high-grain spruce. Its finely carved scroll and elegant orange-brown varnish over a lighter ground give the instrument a distinctive and refined appearance. Tonally, it offers a wide range of expression: warm and mature in the lower register, with a balanced, medium-power sound that becomes clear, bright, and sweet in the upper register. The label reads: “Augustus Pollastri Raphaelis Fiorini alumnus fecit Bononiae an. 1908.” Measurements: Total length: 589 mm Body length: 358 mm Upper bout: 165 mm Middle bout: 115 mm Lower bout: 206 mm Additional photos are available upon request. Worldwide insured shipping is offered. Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind
