Description from the seller

Very beautiful Art Deco wall coat rack. The coat rack is 69 cm wide, 21 cm high and 11 cm deep. It is made of oak, and the hooks are probably bronze. The coat rack weighs about 3.5 kg.

The coat rack dates from the 1920s of the last century and is a typical product of Art Deco, and in particular of the Amsterdam School. Very typical for this are the clean and symmetrical lines of Art Deco, with rounded edge elements, and the graceful shape of the bronze hooks, which still show a lot of Art Nouveau influences (see photos). These hooks are also sold separately and bring high prices!

The small mirror in the middle of the coat rack is a nice subtle detail in the dark oak. Whether it is the original mirror is hard to say. The mirror does not have black spots from exposure to moisture.

This coat rack is still in very good condition. It is also 100% original. The mounting screws on the back are also still original. Another striking feature is the beautiful grain of the oak wood (photos). At the attachment of the side to the back, a crack on the top plank is visible (see photo). This does not compromise the sturdiness; the coat rack is solid and 100% stable.

With its distinctive design, this coat rack is a jewel in any interior and certainly a conversation piece.

The coat rack is meticulously packed, and insured shipping is provided.

Seller's Story

I sell antiques and vintage items. The pieces I find or buy are always things I personally like and that are of high quality. My expertise lies mainly in items from the 20th century.
