Kotominezu - Fruit basket - Ceramic - Hollow woven fruit basket
The Arita-ware hollow craft fruit bowl made by the well-known Japanese craftsman Kotomine can be regarded as the pinnacle of Japanese ceramic craftsmanship. The object adopts a complex hand-woven hollow carcass, with a diameter of about 23 cm and a height of about 9 cm. It comes with an original wooden storage box and an identification certificate. The fruit bowl is made of high-temperature fired white porcelain, demonstrating the top craftsmanship of Arita ware: several thin porcelain strips are woven by hand and fired at high temperatures to form a light but strong hollow body. The decoration combines blue and white underglaze color and overglaze multicolor craftsmanship. The rim is decorated with entwining peony patterns, the center is a wave peony pattern, and the circle foot is decorated with geometric patterns. The octagonal mouth and high-leg design outline an elegant and timeless shape, which can be used to hold refreshments and is also suitable as a display piece.
