Mirror - Brass - Latoens mirror cabinet

An antique Dutch copper/brass bridal mirror, or cushion mirror, due to the domed shape of the frame. It is made of brass decorated with relief techniques, such as repoussé, where patterns in the metal are hammered over the wooden frame. The crest is furnished with a typical Dutch scene. The latoon cabinet (?) behind the mirror has a space for clothing brushes; there is another one, though this is not the original. The mirror is facet-cut and mounted slightly askew, but in fine condition apart from some signs of age.
