This listing features an elegant and distinctive bowl by the world-renowned Danish sculptor and silversmith Just Andersen (1884–1943).
This object is an excellent example of Danish craftsmanship from the early 20th century. The bowl impresses with its striking, deeply gadrooned form, reminiscent of an opened bloom or shell. The design perfectly embodies the transition from the neoclassical style to Danish Art Deco.
Just Andersen achieved worldwide fame for his mastery of metalwork; his pieces are today exhibited in major museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
