A very RARE and beautiful book written by Ben Jonson..."Volpone" Illustrated by Aubrey Beardsley with five plates, frontispiece and initials. First German Edition thus. 4to. Bound in original maroon cloth with bevelled edges, decorative gilt blocked cover and gilt lettering to spine, top edge coloured to match cloth. externally very good, bright gilt interior relatively clean with some light wear on a few pages on margins at beginning-see photos. Limited to 650 copies of which this is number 62.
Scarce.A very good copy.
