Beautiful, richly ornamented gilded frame in Louis XV / Rococo style.

The profile is lavishly decorated with hand-applied plaster ornaments (compo) with acanthus leaves, flower motifs, scrolls, and classic rocaille elements. The frame features a lovely, warm gilding with natural patina and a white inner edge (liner).

This decorative frame is typical of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was widely used for paintings and mirrors. It instantly gives any work a classic, elegant appearance.

Ideal as a statement piece in a classic or eclectic interior, or to give a painting extra cachet.
