On offer is an old fine full sized master violin, made and labeled: "Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat AS anno 1725 Wilhelm Kruse, Markneukirchen". The instrument is ready to play with good old ebony and rosewood set up, new bridge and new strings. No cracks. The tone is powerful, sweet, rich, clear as a bell and focused with many colors to work with. It is responsive and even in all ranges. The violin has two pieces back made from beautiful softly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll; the table is likewise matching of high quality, straight high to medium grained spruce. The purfling has been painstakingly inlaid front and back. Original golden brown varnish over lighter ground.
The whole length of the violin is 59,1 cm and the back 35,7 cm.
The width of the upper bouts: 16,4 cm; middle bouts: 11,3 cm; lower bouts: 20,6 cm.
