Description from the seller
Beautiful framed drawing.
Peter de Smet (Amsterdam, July 4, 1944 – Amsterdam, January 6, 2003) was a Dutch comic strip artist. He is best known for his humorous comic De Generaal.
Peter de Smet was born on July 4, 1944, in Amsterdam. Because his father was co-owner of an advertising agency, he too began a career in advertising after his MULO education, working at several agencies in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Brussels.
In his spare time he drew comic stories. In 1968 he managed to have one of these stories, the humorous knight strip Fulco, published in the Belgian magazine Het Kapoentje. Because of illness he had to abandon this story halfway.
In 1985 he received the Stripschap Prize for his entire body of work.
