Fernando Ribaudo - Donna con Gatto

I am Fernando Ribaudo, a 63-year-old Italian artist. I have worked as a set designer and have painted about 500 canvases in my life. I am currently devoted to pursuing my passion by creating some paintings for international painting competitions, such as the Modigliani competition, where I will present at the finals a painting in the same style. My father was a portraitist, and my grandfather frescoed churches in Sicily. The unique painting I created, titled The Woman and the Cat, describes an allegorical and absurd dream I had. In my many allegorical dreams, this painting represents a medieval scene with a red and gold drapery, in a purely fantastical context. Where the Woman is the White Cat, it represents domestic calm, and the felines the symbolic protection and the wild strength of nature. Everything is immersed in that fairy-tale atmosphere I adore, with the winding river, the medieval castle, and the living sky, in a timeless scene where the transience of life is highlighted against the eternity of art.
