Violin Bow – stamped August Edwin Prager
For sale is a beautiful violin bow stamped “A E PRAGER”, from the well-known bow maker tradition in Markneukirchen / Germany.
The bow is about 74.1 cm long and weighs 57 grams. It is made of Pernambuco wood. The beautiful frog is equipped with an ornate mother-of-pearl eye and an inlaid mother-of-pearl. The head displays the elegant, characteristic shape of the Markneukirchen School.
The bow is in used but good condition – the hair is present, but should be renewed.
An ideal bow for advanced players or collectors of historic workshop bows with traditional craftsmanship.

“August Edwin PRAGER was a German bow maker who operated from 1875 to 1956. His workshop produced high-quality bows for string instruments according to traditional German craftsmanship. Fernambuk wood was chosen for its ideal combination of strength, flexibility and sound transfer, making it the preferred material for professional bows of this era.
