Bucket - Copper, Brass - Antique copper bucket.

A characterful coal scuttle from the 1920s, executed in warm copper with refined brass details. This type of bucket was used at open fireplaces to keep coal or firewood neatly at hand, but quickly grew into a decorative object in interior decor.

The elegant, subtly flaring form and the ornate handle attachment with ornament show influences of the late Art Nouveau and early Art Deco period. The combination of copper and brass provides a beautiful contrast, while the lived-in patina – visible on the inside and rim – gives an authentic look that only years bring.

The inside shows clear signs of use, appropriate to the original function. The green oxidation and discolorations emphasize the real, unpolished character. This makes the piece not only decorative, but also a tangible piece of interwar history.

Today this coal scuttle is perfect as a fireplace accessory, but also very suitable as a planter, umbrella stand, or purely as a decorative object in a classic, country, or industrial interior.
