A pair of antique Staffordshire ceramic dogs, popularly known as "Wally Dogs" in the United Kingdom.
Made of glazed terracotta and hand-decorated, they depict the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed.
They became very popular in the Victorian era, and were typically placed in pairs atop the fireplace mantel in English and Scottish homes.
