Description from the seller
A0000003668
Vintage Parker Moderne set consisting of fountain pen and mechanical pencil in marbled celluloid, preserved in very good overall condition with an especially attractive aesthetic presence thanks to the combination of deep brown tones and amber marbling, characteristic of Parker productions from the late 1930s.
The celluloid maintains a very pleasant natural shine and good depth of color. Marble veining is clearly defined, showing a well-preserved material that retains the chromatic richness typical of these early resins. Both bodies show light micro-signs of use in keeping with their age, with no cracks, deformations, or noticeable material loss.
The barrel engravings remain clearly visible and legible, including the inscription “Geo. S. Parker – Parker Moderne – Made in Canada,” which adds historical and collectible interest to the set.
The fountain pen cap retains its firm structure, with the original Parker clip finished in a ball. The golden metal components show slight superficial wear typical of the passage of time, yet still present a very correct aesthetic.
The original Parker 14-carat gold nib, engraved Parker – Quink – 14K – Canada, is well preserved, with no visible deformities and proper alignment. The fountain pen has been serviced and is delivered operational, ready for use.
The mechanical pencil maintains its shape and correct proportions, with a functional mechanism and the metallic tip in good condition, showing only light marks consistent with normal use over decades.
Overall, this is a well-preserved Parker Moderne set, attractive for both collection and use, preserving its original characteristics, vintage aesthetics, and structural integrity after more than eight decades since its manufacture.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
