Description from the seller
A0000003792
The Montblanc 644 fountain pen we present is in a very attractive state of preservation, showing an elegant and well-maintained presence that reflects careful use over time.
The barrel and section, made from high-quality black resin, preserve a deep and even shine. Very slight micro-scratches typical of a vintage piece are visible only under close inspection, but overall the material is very well preserved, with no cracks or deformations and a clean overall aesthetic.
The gold-plated metal cap displays a natural patina that is very characteristic and adds a pleasant vintage character to the piece. The surface shows even and elegant wear from the passage of time that does not affect the structural integrity of the cap. The clip retains its correct shape and functionality, maintaining good fit and alignment.
At the top of the cap the Montblanc emblem is clearly visible, well defined and properly seated. The model number “644” is still legible on the finial, which helps correctly identify this reference within the brand’s classic series.
The original Montblanc 14-karat (14C) gold nib is in very good condition, with sharp engravings and no structural deformations. The tip shows correct alignment and preserves its proper shape, showing normal signs of use compatible with the piece’s age.
The ebonite feed appears clean and well preserved, keeping its intact structure and its ink-feeding function.
The pen has been checked and tested, delivered fully functional and ready for use, as is customary for pieces prepared by Collecting Legacy.
Overall, this is a Montblanc 644 with a very attractive vintage aesthetic, where the patina of the metal cap adds personality without compromising the overall condition of the piece.
Conservation recommendations
To preserve this fountain pen in optimal condition, use high-quality inks specifically for fountain pens, avoiding pigmented inks or inks with particles. If not used for a long time, it is advisable to clean it with lukewarm water, dry it completely before storage, and keep it in a dry place, away from direct light and extreme temperatures. The mechanism should always be operated gently to ensure its proper longevity.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
