Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
French-made fountain pen with a steel body and a 14k gold nib (.585), 138 mm long and 12 mm in diameter, dating from the late 20th century, cap top shows wear and loss of gold plating while the clip and burgundy resin section remain intact, and the nib writes smoothly in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
The pen is in overall very good condition, with signs of use appropriate to its age and nature, which do not compromise its functionality or its aesthetic appeal at all.
The metal body with a textured finish preserves an excellent appearance, maintaining its characteristic elegance.
Light micro-scratches deriving from use are visible, observable only under certain lighting, with no dents, dings, or deformations. The assembly remains solid and well aligned.
The cap shows more evident wear on the top part (crown), where there is loss of gold plating and signs of use accumulated over time. This wear is purely aesthetic and adds character to the piece, reflecting its real use.
The clip is intact, with mild signs of use, maintaining good tension and functionality.
The burgundy resin section remains in very good condition, with no cracks or damage, a correct and uniform shine. The transition between materials is clean and well aligned.
The gold nib is in very good condition, with a clean surface and no visible deformities. It has been inspected and tested, ensuring smooth and correct writing, in line with the brand’s standard.
Overall, it is a well-preserved piece, with moderate wear localized mainly on the cap crown, which does not affect its use and keeps its elegance and functionality intact.
Conservation recommendations
To preserve the piece in optimal condition, it is recommended to use high-quality inks designed for fountain pens, avoid pigmented inks, clean with lukewarm water if it will not be used for a while, thoroughly dry before storing, and keep it in a dry place away from direct light and extreme temperatures. It is also advised to operate the writing mechanism gently to ensure its durability.
It will be sent with a courtesy box for its preservation.
Good luck at the auction!
