Description from the seller

Beautiful handcrafted backgammon set. Originating from the Middle East or Turkey and dating from the mid-20th century.

The backgammon set consists of 30 wooden discs (15 light, 15 dark), two white and two red dice.

The board is located on the inside of a magnificent wooden box. It is made according to the so-called intarsia technique, in which different types of wood are inlaid by hand, similar to marquetry. Mother-of-pearl is also used in this piece.

The outside of the box can optionally be used as a chessboard.

The box, when unfolded, measures 30x30 cm and is 2.5 cm high. When folded, the dimensions are 30x15x5 cm. The total weight is about 550 grams.

The game and the accompanying box are in impeccable condition. For a good impression, please view the photos.
