Description from the seller
Antique French oval frame – gilded carved wood – Rococo style – circa 1900
Beautiful antique oval frame in richly carved wood, executed in an elegant Rococo / Louis XV revival style.
The frame is entirely made of solid wood and features original gilding with a warm, well-aged patina. In several places the traditional red/orange bole is visible, evidencing authentic gilding technique and age.

The expressive carving with scrolls, shell motifs and acanthus leaves gives the piece a strongly decorative character.
