Pair of decorative relief panels in wood and resin by Lam Lee for Marco Polo S.R.L, dated 1950–1960, each 51.5 cm high, 51 cm wide and 3 cm deep.
Description from the seller
The central design features a perched bird among branches and flowers, a decorative style common in various artisanal traditions. The piece is set in a deep gilded frame with a raised profile that emphasizes the three-dimensionality of the piece.
This type of relief, framed, was popular as a decorative element in Boho or classic style in the mid-20th century.
Technique: embossing. The work creates a three-dimensional effect by pushing the resin from the back, highlighting the details of the plumage and the petals.
Marco Polo S.r.l. has distributed Lam Lee exclusively in Italy and Russia for over 10 years.
The Lam Lee company was founded over 50 years ago; its incredible organization counted over 300 employees, including 300 designers dedicated to the production of extraordinary pieces of furniture, lamps, chairs, decorative panels, and accessories, divided into 5 categories. These products earned Mr. Lam Lee, patron of the company, the “14th Art Award For Achievement” in January 2003, the highest recognition of his artistic creativity, a once-in-a-lifetime achievement.
Hundreds of articles of the highest quality thanks to the value of the materials used, among which gold and silver leaf, lacquers, resins, and other decorative materials produced with exclusive formulas known only within the Lam Lee company, fruits of decades of study and research that have yielded unparalleled results. The techniques used are ancient but at the same time adapted to modernity thanks to studies and the fusion of more particular methods.
