Gothic Holy water font - 1850-1900 - Champlevé enamel

Bedside holy-water font from the 19th century in neo-Gothic style, in marble and champlevé enamel.

Support in white Carrara marble in the shape of a Latin cross; decorative elements are brass with enamel inlays.
The central decoration is in the shape of a fleur-de-lis, at the center is a chalice from which an host radiates with the letters IHS.
The basin intended to receive holy water is topped with a hinged lid; one can read AM (Ave Maria). The underside ends with a small worked lamp finial.

French manufacture, probably from the workshops of Limoges or Paris, dating from the Second Empire or the Third Republic.

Excellent condition with only minimal signs of wear.
