"Queen Elizabeth – Pink Majesty" by Pythia reinterprets the iconic figure of Queen Elizabeth II in a pop and contemporary key. The bust, entirely painted in a bright, glossy pink, transforms regal austerity into a gesture of sweetness and modernity, highlighted by the golden crown that shines like a small urban diadem. Splatters and golden drips traverse the shoulders and torso, like luminous veins telling the long history of the British monarchy and the queen’s understated elegance.
The meeting of pink and gold creates a refined balance: on one side the closeness to pop culture and contemporary life, on the other the call to power, tradition and the sense of responsibility that marked Elizabeth II’s entire reign. Artist’s Biography
Pythia is the son of Etna and the sea. After traveling through Italy and breathing in the essence of Tuscan art, he returns to his homeland to give voice to his vision.
His works are contemporary busts in which the face, symbolic and timeless, juxtaposes energetic and meaningful painterly gestures.
Each creation is a dialogue between matter and color, between stillness and movement.
