Description from the seller
Vintage Design
A cabinet clock in the Art Deco style made of stone cladding. The simplified, symmetrical form of the body is crowned with brown images of deer rendered in a graceful pose of a jump. The long ears of the animals and shapely legs mark the direction and lead the eye to the clock face. The clock is made of stone, the cladding is made of several types of marble.
The stones used as the cladding of the clock and the brackets are characterized by a decorative structure with visible white veining. The cladding creates a geometric, symmetrical composition with a clock face in the center.
The Art Deco style stood in opposition to the rich ornaments of eclecticism and Art Nouveau. It was characterized by a modern striving for a synthetic approach to forms and their geometrization. At that time, beauty was sought mainly as a utility object. The combination of luxurious materials and impeccable, cubic forms has become synonymous with elegance.
