CARLA SUTERA SARDO (Agrigento, 1983) approached photography for passion during the university years spent between Palermo and Rome. After the initial, self-taught foray into photography through the self-portrait, she has pursued greater experimentation, tied to the more unusual and pristine aspects of Sicilian nature, and has developed a personal language that allows her to express her vision through the camera. Her research focuses on the woman and the communication between bodies and landscapes. The constant aim is to create dreamlike images, suspended in time.

Her photographs have been published by magazines such as L'oeil de la Photographie and Vogue Italia; they have received recognitions including the Sony World Photography Awards, the Siena Photography Awards, and the Prix de la Photographie. Carla Sutera Sardo has exhibited in London, Turin, Florence, Palermo, Zhengzhou, Gibellina, Paris, and Slovenia.
