Description from the seller
Title: Allegory of the Carnival
School: Hyperrealist School (20th Century)
Style: Hyperrealism
Technique: Oil on canvas
The work presents a symbolic composition centered on a carnival mask laid out on a green-toned cloth, treated with soft folds that add depth and naturalism. The mask, white in color, is delicately ornamented at the edges and accompanied by white and black feathers, introducing a chromatic contrast and a sense of lightness.
The hyperrealistic treatment is evident in the fidelity of the textures: the fabric's softness, the feathers' lightness, and the mask's satin surface are executed with great technical precision. The scene, intimate and silent in character, suggests an allegorical reflection on duality, mystery, and identity—elements traditionally associated with the carnival.
The work is presented in a frame of strong presence, composed of a stepped molding structure. Predominantly gold-toned with an aged patina, it is combined with an inner dark wood molding that creates contrast and visual depth. This ensemble adds elegance and reinforces the decorative character of the piece.
Dimensions:
27 x 22 cm
Framed dimensions: 46 x 41 cm
Notes:
