Mid-20th Century Spanish .915 Solid Silver Vegetable/Soup Tureen with Matching Presentation Tray (Set)
Description:
- A Spanish Legumbrera (covered vegetable tureen) accompanied by its original matching Bandeja (underplate).
- The Neo-Rococo Style: The ornate, floral, and "chased" (hand-detailed) style is characteristic of the Neo-Rococo revival that was immensely popular in Spain from the late 1930s through the 1950s. During this period, affluent Spanish households favored this highly decorative look for formal dining and "showcase" silver.
Hallmarks:
- Fineness: Stamped with the official Spanish five-pointed star, guaranteeing .915 "Plata de Ley" purity.
- Maker: Stamped with the registered silversmith’s mark in a hexagonal frame (Post-1934 standard).
