Stanley London – British Military Prism Compass – WW1 / Inter-war
Rare brass military navigation instrument, stamped Stanley London on the compass rose. Serial number engraved on the back: SL. No. 1819.

W.F. Stanley of London is one of the great historical British manufacturers of scientific and military instruments, official supplier to the British army since the 19th century. Its prism compasses equipped officers during the Boer War, World War I and World War II.

• Type: Verner’s Pattern prism compass
• Material: Solid brass
• Signature: “Stanley London” engraved on the compass rose
• Serial number: SL. No. 1819
• Brass gilded compass rose graduated 0-360°
• Bipolar needle with red North marker
• Integrated clinometer (bubble level)
• Articulated brass sighting rule
• Original sighting mirror in the lid
