Author of Immense Relief: Vicente Coelho de Seabra Silva Telles (1764-1804), born in Congonhas do Campo, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He was a brilliant naturalist and chemist, educated in Coimbra, and this work is the testimony of his precursor genius.
Dedicatória Histórica: The work is dedicated to the "Sociedade Litteraria do Rio de Janeiro" (Literary Society of Rio de Janeiro), underscoring its direct connection with the dawn of Brazilian intellectual life and the diffusion of science in the then colony. It is, therefore, a piece of early Braziliana.

Encuadernación: Encuadernación de época en pasta española sencilla (piel), funcional pero con desgaste en el lomo y puntas.
Interior: Sin manchas graves de óxido. Presenta pequeñas marcas puntuales de xilófagos (galerías de carcoma) antiguas y ya inactivas, que afectan apenas a unas pocas letras aisladas sin impedir en ningún momento la lectura completa del texto.
