Persian Khatamkari wall clock from Isfahan, dating to 1970–1980, with hand-painted miniature panels, khatam marquetry and an embossed metal dial behind a domed glass cover.
Description from the seller
Persian Khatamkari Wall Clock with Hand-Painted Miniature Scenes – Late 20th Century
Decorative Persian wall clock crafted in an elegant octagonal form, richly adorned with fine khatam marquetry and hand-painted miniature panels.
The frame is extensively covered with intricate geometric khatam mosaic work composed of delicate star-pattern arrangements. Four hand-painted panels depict traditional Persian scenes, including equestrian figures and courtly characters, executed in vivid colors.
The central section features a domed glass cover protecting an embossed metal dial with stylised numerals and ornate hands, creating strong visual depth and a distinctive decorative presence.
The reverse shows a later quartz movement replacement. The movement has not been tested and is therefore sold as decorative/untested.
A highly decorative example combining Persian craftsmanship, miniature painting, and traditional geometric marquetry.
Condition:
Good overall decorative condition with minor age-related wear. There are small surface cracks and minor losses to parts of the khatam decoration, visible in the photographs.
The photographs form an integral part of the description and condition report.
Carefully packed and shipped securely.
